Online Version of This Newsletter

Welcome

We wish our readers a Very Happy New Year!

In this issue of this newsletter, we cover the following themes: Technologies and Approaches to Lean Process Improvement, Looking Back at 2006 and Looking Forward to 2007, and Outsourcing/Off-shoring Trends in India, China and the Philippines.

In 2007, Toyota is poised to overtake General Motors as the number 1 producer of automobiles in the World. We foresee a surge of interest in the application of the Toyota Production System (TPS) approaches to Business Process Management. TPS has pioneered many interesting Lean Improvement methodologies in Manufacturing that can be applied to Business Services.

2006 saw extraordinary growth in Outsourcing/Off-shoring activities and 2007 seems to promise even more. With rising costs in offshore destinations like India and China, Continuous Process Improvement can hold the key to service providers adding significant value beyond just cost savings and fending off competition from even lower cost destinations.

Your suggestions for other topics, articles and news to be covered are always welcome. Please send them to newsletter@ajira.com.
